Surfing conditions

Surf depends on more than wave height. Period tells you whether the swell has organization behind it, and wind direction decides whether the face is clean or crumbling. Conditions also vary sharply between breaks along the same stretch of coast, so treat this as a starting point rather than a call on a specific peak.
